I was a competitive gymnast as a child before I started riding at the age of 13. While I love riding in all of it’s forms, jumping is my passion. I got my first horse when I was 17 and have been an addict ever since.
I went to Mount Holyoke for my first 2 years of college and then graduated from UT Austin with a degree in Kinesiology. I competed in the IHSA for teams at both schools. While in college, I combined my gymnastics and my riding into vaulting where I took lessons and then began teaching it.
I taught gymnastics for 4 years after college and have been teaching riding for the last 21 years.
As a rider, my biggest accomplishment was qualifying for and competing at the Washington International Horse Show. My horse and I were also state and zone champions for several years.
As an instructor, I have been taking students to shows, both local and ‘A’-Rated, for 16 years.
I have taught riders as young as 5 and as old as 65. I enjoy teaching all ages and passing along my love of the animals and the sport.
